Aspera Design was commissioned to provide full Architectural design services for Cytonn Towers, a Mixed-Use Development on a 4-acre plot in Kilimani, Nairobi. The clients brief required an iconic landmark design that would comprise of an Office, Hotel, Apartments, and Mall. The design consists of three 37-storey towers, that sit on a 4-storey podium with 3 basement floors.
The office tower consists of 23,000 sqm leasable floors, the hotel tower which consists of 188 hotel rooms and 120 serviced apartments, and the apartment tower which consists of 200 Three-bedroom apartments. The top floor of the towers consists of Penthouse apartments, and Executive Club and viewing galleries. The office and hotel tower are connected by a suspended bridge that contains a restaurant and viewing terrace. The podium consists of 2 retail levels, 1 meeting and conference facility, a family entertainment level that opens onto the elevated plaza, and a podium roof that is an expansive landscaped recreational level, boasting one of the largest elevated infinity pools in Nairobi.
The ground floor accommodates a series of forecourts, the drop-off and entry lobbies for the towers and mall. The basement levels accommodate car parking, service drop-offs and plant access. The facades conceptual inspiration comes from the weaving basketry patterns. This has been developed into a dia-grid feature that also doubles up to provide solar shading for the tower structures.
